Touch Screen
TouchScreen
A television or computer screen which allows theuser touches in order to make choicesinstead of using a mouse or keypad.Examples of touch screens are:
ATM
Kodak photo print
PDA’
self serve
Nintendo DS
self serve (like at BIG W)
iphone, which also has multi touch
car navigations systems
Retail system
HOW IT WORKS
Touch sensorThis is a clear glass panel which contains a quick responding surface. The touch panel is placed over a display screen. The sensor normally has an electrical current or signal going throughout it and touching the screen. This causes a power or signal change. The power change is applied to find the location of the area of the touch to the screen.
ControllerThis is a small pc card which is connecting the touch sensor and the pc. The controller takes information from the touch screen and changes it into info that the pc can read. It is generally installed inside the monitor or it is housed in a plastic case for exterior touch, add ons or overlays. The controller decides what type of connection you will need on your pc.
Software DriveThis software driver updates software for pc systems. The driver allows the touch screen AND computer to work as a team. It communicates with the computers operating system, telling it how to interpret the touch information that is sent from the main controller. Some equipment such as thin client terminals, DVD players and specialised computer systems would either have software drives built in or they don’t use software drivers.

Wikispaces
Another assignment we had to do was working with wikispaces. We had to get into groups of three or four. In my group was: Megan, Colleen and Me. We had to draw our topic out of a hat. We picked out DISPLAYS. Colleen designed our front page and then me and megan chose other sub-topics within our topic. I did PSP and Blackberry. Megan chose touch screens.

Lego Pieces
There were heaps of lego pices that we used to make our robot. here are some of the things we used:
LEGO Mindstorms RCX 2.0 controller.Brand new and great to expand your Mindstorms 2.0 Robotic building complexity.
Controling The Robot
After we had actually made the robot we had to give it controls so it could move. We used robot lab to send the information that we had set on laptop to the robot. The main part of the robot which stores all of the information is called the programming block. The information that we put onto the laptop we convert it to the robot. We then place it on the floor and watch what we programmed it to do. We also used a little gadet called infa-red.
